Ramdulal or Ramdoolal De was the first Bengali who dared to extend relation with many foreign countries more than 230 years ago. In fact he is known as the Pioneer in Indo- American Trade Relation.American Trader's were so impressed with him that at one point they depended upon him entirely. The effect was that Ramdulal always took special care to see that they reaped enough profits..Shocked by his death,the East India Marine Society at Salem made special arrangements to mourn his death. A Society in his name still exists in America (Lee Universities)!! The first Bengali millionaire -that is what he is known as !
