Ramdulal & Salem Society !

Ramdulal or Ramdoolal De was the first Bengali who dared

to extend relation with many foreign countries more than

230 years ago. In fact he is known as the Pioneer in Indo-

American Trade Relation.American Trader's were so impressed

with him that at one point they depended upon him entirely.

The effect was that Ramdulal always took special care to see

that they reaped enough profits..Shocked by his death,the East

India Marine Society at Salem made special arrangements to

mourn his death.

Even today a society in his name exists in America !!
