Courtroom oaths !
One could still watch in dramas & films-witness in courtroom taking oaths by touching the Gita,Quran or other holy books. Little do we know that the practice does not exists.It was most popular during the Mughal Era when both Hindus & Muslims swore by the Bhagvat Gita or Quran respectively. In India a law was enacted more than 100 years ago to do away with this practice.
