White peafowl in Corbett Park.

We have all heard of Jim Corbett -the world famous

British hunter, tracker, naturalist and author. In the

Jhirna range (India)  a large area of forest has been

named after him. The area is known as Corbett Tiger

Reserve.

On Sunday an unexpected guest was viewed through

the camera trap. At first a group of forest staff thought

they suddenly saw a brilliant white plumaged bird. It

flew very quickly out off their sight. The next day they

found in their trapped camera - a lone white peafowl-

never seen in their reserve in  its 85 year history !
