Mind your language Calcuttans !

If one happens to go through the streets of Calcutta

one could not miss the 'ear polluting' languages spoken

openly by its people. Who could blame the city for  its

 once rich cultural background ? Why should the city

get a bad name for few unaware people ?

The fact remains that Calcuttans are forced to bear with

this everyday. It is more painful when you have your 

family -especially ladies & children-along with you !

Most people are getting used to hearing such languages

-trying hard to look the other way or trying to be just

indifferent.

It is more painful when you have to bear with it while

watching a TV or a film show !

I have watched Bhuter Bhabishyat which was perfect in

every sphere. Somebody should have done this 30 years

ago and much Heritage Buildings could have been saved.

But -as I was saying-the film could have been unique without

using those unwanted "street languages"

Wonder if the point is understood !!

My wife and myself usually spend around five/six months in Hyderabad.Our son, along with his family, has been staying there for quite some time.  We sometime taste the renowned Hyderabadi Biryani. To be very honest we often miss the Kolkata Biryani.  After many years we finally got the taste here too. O Kolkata we found your Biryani here at last!  Today is a Sunday and we were planning to have our lunch outside. Finally we ended up in a restaurant   near Kukatpally with a peculiar name. In fact the very name drew us towards it. Dum Maaro Dum was the name. We casually ordered Biryani knowing it to resemble Kolkata's taste.  We were simply bowled out to find the Biryani's taste as excellent as Kolkata. In fact better in some aspects both in quality and quantity.  At last.. at last.. at last The Kolkata Biryani in Hyderabad! They guaranteed that their Hyderabadi Biryani too is good.  Yes we will find it out the next Sunday.

Tara Bhora Akasher Niche. By Srijato !

We usually used to go to bangalore every year to our son.  It was in such a visit -we found our son and daughter-in -law pretty busy with music rehearsal. There were other young guys  too and they looked quite serious.My wife ,of course, got busy cooking some tasty snacks for them.On enquiring we were informed that they would be participating at  BoiTHEK by Ananda Publisher and hence the rehearsal. Finally they participated , enjoyed and came back with 1424 Sharodia Anandabazar Patrika.  It was from that Patrika that I came along Tara Bhora Akasher  Niche by Srijato. Today I finished it and found it quite abstract and interesting . A sort of dreaming experience- I should say !! .
