Nizam's once again

Calcutta's famous Nizaam's was once a favorite place for we young persons.The food was quite delicious and me along with my friends simply devoured the dishes. After a long gap once again I visited Nizaam's on 25th December 2022.My wife and myself like every year went to New Market. Nahoum's was quite a crowded place. So we decided to buy some ham and sausages from Baldwin's Piggery. Since we were quite hungry and just passing near Nizaam's I decided to visit my favorite place once again. We ordered two chicken rolls. While waiting for our rolls we looked around to see if anything has changed. The very first thing I noticed on the wall were big pictures of Manna Dey, Hemanta Mukherjee and inbetween them Mehedi Hassan(performing) while Ptd. Ravishankar was listening.On the other wall I spotted Chuni Goswami,Uttamkumar and Soumitra Chatterjee. I asked a responsibile person, who was looking after our order, the reason. He quickly said that these emminent persons were their customers. I was a bit shocked when I went to the main room. Now I saw pictures of Charlie Chaplin and other world famous film actors. To satisfy my curiosity I asked the man sitting at the counter "Did these famous persons too were their customers? " The answer was a big smile !

My wife and myself usually spend around five/six months in Hyderabad.Our son, along with his family, has been staying there for quite some time.  We sometime taste the renowned Hyderabadi Biryani. To be very honest we often miss the Kolkata Biryani.  After many years we finally got the taste here too. O Kolkata we found your Biryani here at last!  Today is a Sunday and we were planning to have our lunch outside. Finally we ended up in a restaurant   near Kukatpally with a peculiar name. In fact the very name drew us towards it. Dum Maaro Dum was the name. We casually ordered Biryani knowing it to resemble Kolkata's taste.  We were simply bowled out to find the Biryani's taste as excellent as Kolkata. In fact better in some aspects both in quality and quantity.  At last.. at last.. at last The Kolkata Biryani in Hyderabad! They guaranteed that their Hyderabadi Biryani too is good.  Yes we will find it out the next Sunday.
