North Kolkata Calling !!

A Rock which fell from Mars has been put up for sale in Sotheby's New York Auction.  The piece weighed 24.5 kg and it is named NWA 16788. It took around 15 minutes for the bidding to end. An anannomous man was the buyer of the Maritian Meteorite!

tThis is for the first time that scientists have watched a solar system. They saw the first pieces of material to be later become planets. Scientists believe that this will throw light on how our own planet system developed. The entire development  encircles around a baby star (HOPS-315) located 1300 light years away.

Grp Capt Shubhanshu Sukla, after his return from space, posted this picture. Shux in an emotional reunion with his family after nearly three weeks in space. He wrote "Space flight is amazing but seeing your loved ones after a long time is equally amazing..Coming back to Earth and holding my family back in my arms felt like home."

Professor Hiromi Sakai, along with his team, at Nara Medical University, created red blood cells. Positively, if all goes well,this new artificial blood could be used by 2030. This artificial bood  needs no matching and it will be anti -infection.It is expected that global blood shortage issue would finally be tackled.It will further end how the world handle emergencies. From this newly created artificial blood, mass casualties and rural surgeries will be benefited.

China's Magler train (train that glides above the track) can travel faster than aeroplane. At present it can cover 1200 km in just 150 minutes. From Beijing to Shanghai it takes around 5.5 hours. This new train will take only 2.5 hours. With such speed (600 km per hour) China has created a new world record. It was unveiled at the 17th Modern Railway Exhibition.It is claimed that this train is capable of reaching 600 km per hour in just 7 seconds.

Sachin Tendulkar himself stands before his potrait. It was during the unveiling of the said potrait-at the MCC Museum in Lords, London. On Thursday's occasion Sachin said "It was good for world cricket when a young team, which is trying to organize itself as a strong unit, comes together -making sure who plays what role."
